Carborundum is the trade name for silicon carbide (SiC), an extremely hard compound of silicon and carbon.
This is a man made stone, famous for its iridescent rainbow spikes and metallic luster. Created accidentally in 1891 during a failed synthetic diamond experiment, it is incredibly hard (9 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond).
It is believed to absorb harmful electromagnetic radiation, relieve stress, and balance all chakras.
